I can’t believe that an oil spill of BP was cleaned up in less than 5 months and all the people were compensated, while the worst oil spill in the world, is neglected. Simply because this is Africa; it is not in our backyard so it is not our problem.

This oil spill is 2 times bigger than BP. It has been there for 50 years and is still going. It is so big (half the size of Florida) that it will cost 30 years to clean up this mess.  The Royal Dutch Shell, the second largest company in the world, only has to pay 1 billion per year to clean up the mess. They have a profit of 40 billion per year. So what is 1 billion for them?

And if you think this has no impact on your life, think again: the gas flare that has been going on for ages, is burning up a big natural gas source which can be used as a natural energy source. This gas flare is adding, the same amount of Co2 as the whole of Russia or the United states, in your air, our air.

I am ashamed to be Dutch.

Last friday I went to the openingsparty of ONIGIRI, a new t-shirt shop which brings the gap of consumers and designers all together. I must say that I am very impressed by the shop. Xiao Wei took an incredible job at the designs and filling of the space. He can do my house anytime :D! I just love the cmyk colors and the furniture designs. The wallpainting is just incredibly done: it’s all handpainted!

The shirt looks even better in real life! I got myself both designs and also the design of tokyo4dinner. Also some cute gadgets for my boyfriend and an awesome roboshirt as well. I also adored the owl design of Milou it’s too bad I didn’t catch you! I must say that the prices are between 25 and 35 euros, which is a great deal for limited shirts :)!

I’m so sooo proud of ONIGIRI, I can’t wait to see a second and a 10th shop popping up :)

If you live in the Netherlands and get a chance to visit his store: DO DO DO! It’s really nice! Soon you can order online, but seeing it with your own eyes is so much better :D!

olor Picker is an innovative design of a concept pen that can scan colors from anything around and instantly use the color for drawing. After placing the pen against an object, the user just presses the scan button. The color is being detected by the color sensor and the RGB cartridge of the pen mixes the required inks to create the target color. This superb device will help people to observe the changing colors of nature. With color picker, all range of artists will be able to cerate a more sensorial and visual insight of their surrounding nature’s colors.
Wowww, massive want!
